From: Glyn | posted: 05.05.2006 09:48 Just had same problem - GR-DVL100 - E04 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE - REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY - difference was cassette doesn't always load - gets 'stuck' about halfway then eventually ejects itself - I'll try the above suggestion and let you know how I get on. For info, I've had the recorder about six years with no previous problems! |

From: chris | posted: 09.06.2006 20:06 Error - E03 Machine in Safegaurd mode. I've just had this problem. Following someone's suggestion I took the cassettte out and found the tape had snagged a bit. I wound it back on before re-inserting, but it seemed damdged on playback. Finally the machine has told me to use a tape head cleaner. I'll go buy one tommorrow and see what happens... I hope the tape's ok because it has really good footage on it! |

From: Path | posted: 15.06.2006 03:42 I've been having the same error message. I have no idea why shoving the tape back in should fix it (well, probably temporarily), but it worked! Thank you. |

From: Lauree Woodside | posted: 17.12.2006 19:42 My camcorder was showing the safeguard mode message last night and removing the battery etc did not help. I tried the suggestion about ejecting the tape when the camcorder was starting to whir and it worked - at least for now. Thanks heaps. |
