My camera has been working fine and suddenly I have no power - have tried plugging in to charger and also to PC alas nothing - does this mean I have to get a new battery or is the camera very ill??
I have the hotline number but has anyone any suggestions beforehand

I've just come across the same problem. I was marveling about how long the batteries lasted, when suddenly the camera got very hot and stopped working. It seems to function when the mains adaptor is plugged in, but dies as soon as it's taken out.
Does anyone know whether the batteries are a standard type that I can get on the high-street, or will I have to go back to Aldis for replacements?

both my batteries have died so i did a bit of digging.
energiser do do a replacment battery, if you do a search for "FLNP60" you should find plenty of info

Can you tell me what the pc mode is on the dial.I can't fathom it out & want to put images onto my computer.thanks

there is no mode on the dial. when you plug her into the USB port on the computer the camera should automaticaly switch to transfer reader

'usb' will come up when computer is connected to the camera..Make sure the mains power unit is 'on' the control dial may have to turned until the 'movie camera' symbol appears..What a nice little camera it is!! Keep the batteries charged up by using the mains adaptor..Batteries do not like being left unused!..Jessops have suitable replacement batteries..

½ the pictures on sd-card is unreadable - 800-900 MB. insted of about 1 MB.
How do I do to retreive the pictures ???

I have lost the charger for my DC5300 - where can I get a new one?
