From: Meijer (NL) | posted: 16.11.2005 19:39 After one year of trouble to make the scanner CanoScan FB310 work with Windows XP Home Edition, I've found the solution: 1) Download from www.canon.com (downloads for CanoScan FB310) the 1.04 Twain-P driver for CanoScan FB310 under Windows 2000 Professional (filename: S054_en.exe) plus the manual for installation (filename: s054_install.pdf) 2) Double-click on S054_en.exe. This starts unzipping to a default map, where two submaps Disk1 and Disk2 are filled with files, a.o. SETUP.EXE 3) Double-click on SETUP.EXE and the installation starts. Follow the manual (of the type "FOR DUMMIES") step by step. Some screens may be shown somewhat different. 4) After successful completion of the scanner test (icon shown right under) don't forget to select the FB310 scanner in your imaging software. In my case it was the following menu sequence in the old robust Ulead PhotoExpress 1.0 program: [File] [Aquire] [Select Source] CanoScanFB310 1.6(32-32) Whish you all success! |

From: Phoenix | posted: 02.02.2006 03:26 Canoscan FB310 Driver Installation for XP. Thanks to my friend above. The specific URLs for downloads are below (alternatively use a P2P server like limewire although this is a bit more risky...). Driver: http://software.canon-europe.com/files/soft5907/software/S054_en.exe Installation Guide: http://software.canon-europe.com/files/soft5907/readme/s054_install.pdf Good luck! Phoenix. |

From: Weman | posted: 15.04.2006 15:13 Well I had the same problem and solved it by downloading the driver from driverforum (probably works fine with the one from cannon too) and installing it, but that is not enough. After installation start the scanner and restart xp, ignore xp when telling it found a new device, instead open "control panel>scanners and cameras" and choose "add device". Then add the scanner there and then it shall work just fine. Anyway mine did, I was very happy. You access it from word or your graphic editor. Good luck / Weman |
