From: N | posted: 30.04.2003 06:30 Yes I bought something from them a few years ago and the aftersales service was rubbish. They are quite well known in Manchester for being very uncustomer friendly and also for being rude to customers. We wouldn't touch them with a barge pole again - they may be sometimes slightly cheaper, but you get what you pay for. |

From: John | posted: 29.09.2003 11:23 I have had a poor experience with the delivery company used (Amtrak) who failed to deliver in spite of repeated attempts to arrange delivery and calls to the depot. I have tried to contact the company to no avail, they do not respond to email. |

From: EDDIE WOMBWELL | posted: 21.10.2003 17:50 I ordered a cdw 10 / 10 14/10 - nothing . Be patient. 15/10 send e-m Where is it ? No response 15/10 send em What's happening? No response 20/10 Found telephone no. 01612484848. Rang, got past unfriendly male receptionist to Kelly ( aged 14.5 years by the sound of it) who gave me a number to track my purchase . DIY? Refused offer saying my contract was with Microdirect. Awaited ringback for 30 min. Eventually phoned back and after a lengthy costly wait was told that I could contact the despatch on www. something or other. Refused. Was told that Amarse or somebody had been unable to deliver and that I would get it "tomorrow" We shall see -watch this space. If you have a long barge pole I would heartily recommend this firm. Try MICROINDIRECT. The name would be appropriate. |

From: Steve | posted: 30.10.2003 22:46 I have bought from them twice with no problems. I have just recently had excellent service from sales department over an enquiry and the guy responded with emails and even requested my phone number to deal with me. A shame that they were out of stock when I went to purchase! It's my experience that all these companies are the same really when you need to speak to someone.Try calling E_Buyer. Try ARIA.CO.UK for a real dogturd. You'll love Microdirect after a go with them. |

From: Al Blakeley | posted: 31.10.2003 14:02 I have dealt with MicroDirect extensively for the past year both for my own purchases and for my companies and I have had both good and bad experiences. I sent back a Tyan server board to them after the bios failed and I had a new board within five days. Recently I sent back an Adaptec 1220s Raid card and it took them three weeks to reply and only after several emails and phone calls. Thats a long time without a server needless to say I had to buy another card. Like most of these companies they have their good and bad days but then none of us are perfect all of the time. As for Amtrak thats a whole other subject. |

From: Morlock | posted: 22.11.2003 05:25 I have been having problems with a faulty graphics card, the foreground in 3D apps keeps dissappearing. After waiting around 45 minutes at the shop, I showed them screenshots of what was happening, they ran a benchmark on my card and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it, tough. I am not exactly PC illiterate either (they suggested it was my machine configuration), £70-00 down the drain, they offered to test it further, for £10-00 +VAT!! Avoid Microdirect (UK) like the plague. |

From: Steve | posted: 16.12.2003 11:21 I have purchased a graphics card from them and the fan failed after 2 months, They say that they will replace it but only by posting the card back to ASUS to get a replacement. This will take 21 working days, not including Christmas delays!! I am arguing it with them but check their returns policy before you buy as they are very fussy and reluctant to do anything |
