From: david beattie | posted: 27.10.2000 02:42 hi, Just thought i,d ask your opinion on a new graphics card i,ve bought but not yet installed.I,ts an ati expert 2000 32mb agp + tv out.I like playing games but i,m not a real game geek.I was after a good general purpose card for games + normal applications, ie corel print office ect.Can i actually view normal tv with this card.Would you consider this card to be a sensible choice with no major problems. My system is an epox mvp3 g2 socket 7 motherboard with amd k6 2 3d now cpu 500mhz, 96mb pc100 sdram,win98 upgrade, present card is a trio s3 2d\3d 4mb agp so i,m sure my new card can only be an improvement. thanks, d beattie |

From: Alex Cruickshank | posted: 28.10.2000 10:21 It should certainly improve your machine's graphics performance. The 'TV out' bit means that you can plug your PC into a television set, for watching games or DVD movies on a larger screen. As for whether you can watch TV on your PC, depends if the card has a TV tuner or not. And whether you have an aerial near your PC. The reception probably won't be great, in any case. |
