From: MR ANGRY | posted: 03.05.2006 15:45 Dear Davey, If you can organise a full refund in exchange for your PC then you will be helping me out otherwise don't bother. for the guy who requested more info on my PC details here it is I bought the ELITE3 PC ASUS P5ND2-SLI mother board INTEL PENTIUM D 3.00GHZ DUAL CORE 2 GIG OF DDR2 RAM replacement parts are: ASUS A8N-SLI mother board AMD ATHLON 64 3800 DUAL CORE 2 GIG DDR RAM Now I know Davey will probably say that the AMD 3800 is better than the INTEL 930 BUT! the AMD 3800 is the same processor that is in mesh's £800 machine, If I have spent £1300 on a macine I expect a better processor than the same one that is in a machine thats £500 cheaper. Also is the MB a downgrade? I have not had chance to check, the DDR ram is a downgrade. One of the problems is Davey that I have not even received an appology or nothing, ill give you an example of customer service: last night I in a testuarant my steak was dry and over done, the restuarant replaced it real quick with a perfect juicy steak AND I got a sincere appology 4 free drinks!! Now that is service Davey! |

From: Mesh Support | posted: 03.05.2006 16:58 Hi Mr Angry, I really don't know what it would have cost the restaurant for the steak and drinks but now, thanks to your providing the details of the parts swapped, I can tell you that not including any carriage or labour costs, the upgrade cost us £51.12 at cost prices. Without seeing which £800 system you refer to I would guess that the CPU, Motherboard and RAM isn't the only difference, putting aside for the moment that it's unlikely an £800 spec'd system would have 2gb in it. Now I am genuinely sorry that you are unhappy in this matter but hope that this additional information, maybe not provided to you previously will in some way placate you in the matter. Davey |

From: Rik | posted: 04.05.2006 09:15 Appears to be a common theme here! I too have sent several emails to Mesh and directly to the address given by Davey. I have not had a single one answered, except the auto reply of course. My PC was ordered at the start of April and I have now had the `its being dispatched now` line three times over the past two weeks, the latest being yesterday. Its still showing as `in process` on my account. I accept that shortages of certain hardware can be a problem but to lie over and over again is pretty low |

From: George | posted: 06.05.2006 21:27 it seems to me that Davey hasnt the first idea about pc components,he is just the "forum assasin". Now i noticed Davey that u had a dig at this "unique" forum well let me share my own perspective on that, this forum is open and free with no power drunk forum editor descending from the sky to your rescue like on some other forums, like PC advisor consumerwatch, for example...., that could be why you arent such a fan.....? To qualify my statement about Davey being inept. I described my pc problems a couple of pages back relating to my graphics card issues. I was told over emails by davey himself that having had my moan i should basically just shut up about it now, much like he has said to Mr C. Now mesh replaced my graphics card and motherboard (after 6 weeks and lawyers letter) but it was downgraded. So when Davey says its hard to beleive that a previous post that a CPU was dwngraded he is, not to put too fine a point on it - talking b******ks. Anyway Davey attempted to justify to me that my new graphics card one nVidia 7600GT was the upgrade to my old graphics card one nVidia 6800GT and i quote "a simple comparison of the specs will confirm this" (incidently my friends GIRLFRIEND was laughing and telling me he was talking rubbish). Now Davey i know how to compare specs, but for an objective opinion i emailed nVidia. Now they seem to disagree with your assessment aswell, so that leaves me with a question - do YOU know how to compare specifications? Regards George |

From: hunky | posted: 07.05.2006 09:01 Mr Angry, most of us are keen to see if you have been given happy endings from Davey and Mesh. I have held back on comments on your PC as its up to Davey to comment now, which should be interesting, as I'm confident he wants to show that Mesh is a customer caring company There are a host of fine programmes like ASUS PC Probe which are free and will tell you exactly what Mesh have installed. Will be nice Mr Angry to have a final posting from you telling us all ended happily. |

From: Alex Cruickshank | posted: 08.05.2006 08:32 A few thoughts When moderating this forum, we tend to be as 'hands-off' as possible, only removing posts that are clearly in breach of our T&Cs. If anything, we err on the side of freedom for the message poster. This thread is by far the largest on the forum, but it's now getting to the stage where much of its new content is either covering old ground or becoming increasingly acrimonious. While that may help some people to feel better, it doesn't actually resolve anything. The point about the importance of efficient and polite customer service has been well and truly made. From now on, few if any new posts will be accepted to this thread. To those customers of any company who feel they have been let down, your first point of call should be written (faxed or posted) communication to the company concerned, detailing your complaints with a clearly stated deadline for action. If that fails, talk to your Citizens Advice Bureau and local Trading Standards. The latter in particular are very effective in resolving problems with companies. And to all PC companies: if you're getting a large volume of complaints, you're probably doing something wrong. Ignore your customers at your peril. Alex Cruickshank Editor, IT Reviews PS. To any cynics out there: no, Mesh didn't ask us to do this. |

From: Simon | posted: 08.05.2006 10:57 Sorry about starting a new topic but I felt I had to finish my experiences of MESH and address some of the very negative messages that had appeared in the forum. I did have some bad experiences while I was waiting for the kit (including being lied to), but when it arrived it has worked fantistically well and the quality of the machine is superb. For the money I have paid (just over £1,100) I am well satisified. There has been a lot of criticism over the delivery people. They were first rate and even came back trying to make a delivery for the third time on the off chance that someone was in. I can't fault this. All in all my experience of MESH now I have got the PC is first rate. I just hope that I don't need to call customer service. Usually people only moan in forums and no praise is offered as people who are satisfied are off moaning about something else, so just wanted to set the record straight. Thanks |
