From: Glenn Thompson | posted: 12.09.2006 20:04 Hi Ordered Mesh PC for delivery today 09/09/06, It arrived on time. Packaging was fine. I have spent today putting together and loading software etc.on and it has been fantastic. No problems at all. I realise after reading all of the posts that I may have been lucky but it seems that they do sell some working PC's. Very pleased with build quality, price and spec. Before anyone asks I do not work for Mesh and have no ulterior motive for recommendation Best of luck to all of you who still have PC's to sort |

From: Kevin | posted: 13.09.2006 12:07 I have recently ordered a new PC from Mesh after hearing good things about them in the press. Due to doing some music and video editing work I ordered a fairly beeefy machine (almost £2400 inc VAT with monitor). After reading this thread I am obviously quite concerned... Service so far has been reasonable, they took a couple of days to get back to me regarding some queries, and the system build is inflexible meaning I will likely need to re-install from scratch (or at least spend a lot of time uninstalling and re-configuring the hard drives) when it arrives. Dispatch date has been given as the 21st, so I'll provide updates on their delivery and the quality of the machine. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised as this is the most expensive and well specified PC I have bought, but I will not hesitate to return it for a refund should it be substandard. cheers K |

From: Giselle Berger | posted: 14.09.2006 10:08 I have bought numerous PCs from Mesh - since 1991 - upgrades for us and by recommendation for friends. Their machines on the whole have been good - couple of teething problems which were sorted immediately. Delivery was always prompt. On laptops, I have just had to throw away my daughter's laptop (2 years old from Dell!! because the motherboard had failed) - no support from Dell at all!!! Cost to repair £450.00 and it will still be a Dell - cheap components so they can sell the machines cheaply but expensive to repair. Sorry to read that Mesh haven't been giving great customer service. Just took delivery of second laptop from them in the last 9 months. There was a problem but they exchanged it. Was amazed to read so many negatives - we are on to computer number 7 - the 1995 one I have given to a friend of the family and this is still working. Remember their desktops (if this is still the case - our latest one is 2 years old) can easily be fixed, upgraded etc because of the case build and good components used. I am capable of building computers but have bought from Mesh instead because of what was quality (two years ago - at least) Hopefully they've taken all your views on board and will act quickly to put themselves back on top. I was about to order yet another laptop but will speak first to them and say what I have read here |

From: Kevin Fielder | posted: 25.09.2006 14:27 First update. I'd like to be able to provide an update on the machine itself, but it has yet to arrive. The estimated delivery date was (and still is) showing as the 22nd - last Friday. It should apparently be delivered this week, so within a week of this date. I have no problem with some slippage of the delivery date (it is due to the sound card I ordered being out of stock according to the sales guy I spoke to). BUT I do have an issue with contacting them last Tuesday (19th) and receiving a reply on the 20th stating that my order was fine and would arrive on the date stated. This was 2 days prior to the delivery date at which point I can't believe they didn't know there was a problem with the order. - It was after this that I confirmed my day off so I could be in Friday for the delivery. On speaking to someone Friday - the delivery department had to forward me to sales as they didn't know if there was a problem so I was on hold twice, they explained that the soundcard would be in Mon / Tues this week. On a brighter note they have agreed to send the PC out on a guaranteed pre 9am delivery. I just don't know when this will be. Had they just kept me informed I would have no issue with a slight delay, but I have been misinformed, wasted a days holiday, and I don't know when to expect my machine.. Kevin |

From: Kevin Fielder | posted: 02.10.2006 12:15 Second Update. Well.... The machine itself did arrive on Friday. But there was no monitor, they did however send a nice note telling me the monitor was out of stock. Why the sales person who called me on the Thursday (after several calls from me to chase) to confirm that my order was complete and would arrive tomorrow couldn't have mentioned this fairly glaring omission I don't know... Also I upgraded the soundcard to the "Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-fi Elite Pro" as I have a couple of keyboards to the external I/O box will be very useful, and they have managed to ship the machine to me without this I/O box. The machine itself seems OK - once I was able to borrow a monitor to actually be able to make any use of it. The case is actually good, and it is quieter than I expected. Due to only having access to a substandard monitor I have not performed any sort of performance tests or made much use of the machine generally, so cannot comment on the machine further at this time. Yet again it is their customer service that is letting Mesh down - Had they informed me the monitor was out of stock I could have worked round this and it wouldn't be much of an issue, also an expected delivery date for it would be nice. Also had they got back to me since Friday morning and not required me to still be chasing regarding the missing component I would likely be reasonably satisfied, and on somewhere like this recommending them. As it is I would certainly recommend anyone considering Mesh look elsewhere. I'll provide one further update once these issues have been resolved... Thanks Kevin Oh, if anyone from Mesh is on here the order number is SO_34195 as I really would appreciate someone sorting this out. |

From: Bacon | posted: 04.10.2006 00:36 Hey thanks for the info. I was about to buy online 2 very high spec server pc's from them then I noticed that on line when you select the custom build page and build your pc the value of each part is at the end of each item line, so a base build of £398 without the monitor is £299.30 -£84 pounds (this is with VAT already added) but if you use a calculator it works out to be £314. if you then say select a memory upgrade to 1024MB this will cost £50 which should give you a running total of £349.30, there calculation is £358.05. you can do this for the whole config and the prices come out differently, the real strange thing is when you then proceed to add to cart the price come out as follows SUBTOTAL=£338.72 VAT=£59.28 total =£398.00 this weird as they have already calculated the VAT as it says inclusive in the total. try it see if I am wrong. |

From: Mohammed H | posted: 05.10.2006 10:25 I have just ordered a relativly high spec PC from them only a few days. I came across this site by accident, after reading some of this complaints from customers I am horrified. And some of you haven't even got your money back ??? PC is estimated delivery for 13/10/06 but I guess I should expect delays, delays over 2 maybe 3 days depending on my mood I will ask for a immediate cancelation and refund. I |

From: Peter. Robinson. | posted: 06.10.2006 16:32 I am at the point of purchasing a replacement PC my old one being just about worn out. As a senior citizen I have to watch my pennies. After reading some very slick advertising I was about to order from Mesh, fortunately I came across this web site. God bless you !!. I can tell similar stories about BT's help line In India, but that is for another day. P.G.R. |

From: Francis | posted: 06.10.2006 23:22 Anyway, I have just cancelled my order thanks to you lot but I am sick as it is obviously a company that was too good to be true... I mean Great looking company, Loads of awards, Top spec comps at bargain prices & that all important 3 yr parts & labour warranty thrown in the price, this was a company I wanted to believe in... I spoke to a very polite employee, told him why I was cancelling due to all the bad press, he insisted the company and services are vastly improving that he would gaurantee that no one would ever be able to speak of the company in this manner (this forum) again. I told him I was not willing to take the risk and asked for a complete refund, He said he was sorry to hear that and put me on hold for 30 secs tops - come back and said they have issued a full refund and my account would be credited within 5 working days and that a confirmation email with a cancellation number had been sent - I have a confirmation email and now await my refund. I am happy and I am sad where do I GO NOW to find a company that ' works' with the same DEALS! Providing my refund comes through that is? |

From: Andy H | posted: 10.10.2006 17:55 A warning for anyone thinking of dealing with MESH - Don't! I bought a decent Media Centre PC from them at the end of August, and they charged my credit card immediately (£1780). Estimated delivery date 13th September, I had no problems with that. They would even contact me by telephone or text message if the order was delayed. 13th September comes, PC is delivered, together with a second jiffy bag containing an unsigned letter stating that the Monitor is out of stock and will be despatched when it arrives with MESH. They hoped this was not inconvenient! (What use is a PC without a monitor?) The PC was supposed to come with a wireless keyboard and mouse, but these were both wired. I called Customer Service and was told I was on a list for these items and they would come in due course. The estimated delivery for the monitor was 15th September. I called them a few days later as it wasn't delivered, they said it would be despatched early the next week. On 22nd September I called again as there was no sign of the monitor or communication from them. I was told there were several customers affected by the monitors being out of stock and that the situation was being watched and they would be in touch as soon as they came into stock. On 27th September I called again. The Customer Service agent told me they would be in by the end of the week and despatched (sound familiar yet?) - and she would call me to let me know when it was on its way. This time she told me I was the only customer waiting for a monitor! On 5th October I called again and spoke to the same person, and asked why nothing had happened. She had been off sick and so no-one had done anything about it! On 6th October someone called from MESH (she didn't give her name, as they seem not to unless asked - I wonder why!) to say my monitor had been despatched and would be with me on Monday 9th October. Of course, I stay in all day on Monday, and nothing arrives. I called them today, Tuesday 10th, and they found it in the despatch area! They would despatch it straight away, and call me back at 2pm when it was on the van and on its way to me. At 2.30pm they called to say I would have the monitor by 9am tomorrow morning, as they had personally seen the monitor onto the van. So at last I will have my monitor after 6 weeks of chasing. Oh, perhaps not. I just had a phone call (5pm) to say in fact the monitor had been despatched, but not to me. I has gone to someone else who is also waiting for one. Mine will come, they're not sure when though, but they will call me at the end of the week to let me know if it's been delivered to them. I have all the names of the people I have spoken to, but I'm not mentioning them on here. I am however asking my credit card company to withdraw the payment I have made, due to the abysmal catalogue of events, and lack of delivery. What a shame. The PC spec is exactly what I want, but with customer service as awful as this, there is no way I am doing business with them. |
