From: Bob | posted: 11.05.2005 00:03 Wish I'd seen some of these reviews prior to purchasing from MESH. I received an FX55 computer today 10/5/05 at a cost of £1,600. Thought at that price there would not be any immediate problems; just shows how wrong one can be. Switched on, few seconds later it switched off itself, thought it was perhaps something I did or did not do anyway it fired up and I began loading software I thought; half way through this procedure the DVD player hung so I switched to the DVD writer, both Sony, the same thing happened with this drive. I rebooted the bastard (I was getting quite angry by this time) and the only drives available were "C" and "F", "E" had f**ked off somewhere, perhaps it was arriving the following day by courier, "F" on the other hand was still unavailable so I could not load software. I contacted their customer support and several hours later spoke to a person who said it had not been configured properly (what a genius) and had to be returned to base. I then contacted sales and was offered half the delivery charge for my hassle. Suffice to say I told them to ram it and would like a full refund. This is my first and last PC purchase on line ,especially from MESS sorry MESH. MESH you need to listen and action what your customers are saying, your build is pish and so is your South African customer service, I can hardly make out what they are saying, cheap costs are not the way forward. Hope this dissuades someone from making the same mistake I did. Bob |

From: shoman | posted: 17.05.2005 12:29 Dear all, I've been having lots problems getting a refund from Mesh Computers after they delivered a faulty system. I have a thread going on, with full details on pcpro website. Please have a look (see link below). I think it would be a good thing to get everyone with the similar bad experiences together from different forums. Even if I don't get a refund out of them at least I can ensure everyone else knows about Mesh computers. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/ Under Forums > Vendor Forum > Mesh-Computers/ never again cheers Sho |

From: Steve Foster | posted: 22.05.2005 13:29 Mesh Computers, SIMPLY AVOID THEM, their customer service is non existant. I purchased 3 weeks ago a system for over £1700. Delivery was meant to be on a Thursday, well on Wednesday night, I got told it's now Friday, Friday, no computer arrived, rung them, oh yes it's Saturday now. Saturday came, no computer, rung them, oh it will be Monday. Monday computer arrived hooray. Set computer up, within 5 mins, froze, hard disk failure. Mesh only offer Tech Support MON-FRI business hours. So rung back on Tuesday, someone will contact you in 3-5 WORKING DAYS to arrange an engineer to visit. Recieve call Friday, IT WON'T BE UNTIL THURSDAY NEXT WEEK someone will call to fix it. Totally disgusting service. Surely after spending £1700, I should have received a much better service than I have. Mesh obviously DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS whatsoever, my advice AVOID MESH AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are a disgrace to the PC industry. Totally disgusted with them I've learnt a valuable lesson, always look at the tech support hours, always ring and find out how long for an onsite repair as with Mesh, tech support line opening is sparse and an onsite repair can take longer than a RTB repair. I agree it's time people get together to sort them out, i'm definately up for joining anyone to get there service sorted out. |

From: Peter King | posted: 30.05.2005 18:13 Thank God I found this forum through a Google search. Until I read all these horror stories, I had been planning to buy a Mesh computer, but certainly not now. This leaves me in a quandary. Are any computer companies any good, or should I find a local small system builder and pay a bit more? It seems that saving money by going to the big boys (like Tiny, Dell, Mesh etc, all with bad reputations) is a recipe for a nervous breakdown. |

From: Tony | posted: 01.06.2005 11:53 My experience was just as bad, at least my computer is still working, this is what happended. I am writing to you in the hope that you can remedy the issue regarding my computer purchased from Mesh. I purchased my computer from you on the 22-July 2003, with a given delivery date of 28th July 2003. I have made numerous attempts to speak with somebody in authority who can tell me what is going on, why my computer has been delayed and why I was not informed. I have wasted 2 days at home waiting for my computer to arrive, over 2 hours on the phone attempting to get a resolution. The computer failed to arrive on the 28th and with no explanation Having telephoned your office I find that all your staff appear to hold your customers in contempt, with little regard for the fact they are spending large amounts of money with you, and therefore paying your wages. I have been promised over 10 times that somebody in authority i.e. a supervisor will call me back and nobody has. The senior staff seem to shy away from the responsibility of dealing with your customers directly by telling the phone operatives they are busy and not calling them back. The problems are further enhanced by the phone operatives just dropping your call into the telephone abyss, only for you to be picked up by somebody else who asks you all the same questions over again. This is only made worse when they just cut you off. I am particularly annoyed with Michael, who I was told on no less than 5 occasions since Monday 28th at 4.30 pm, would call me within the next 2 hours and to date I have received no call or explanation. I have been equally frustrated by the lack of senior staff who are willing to talk to me about my issues. On a number of occasions today I have asked to speak with you, only to be told you are in a meeting, out to lunch, in a meeting. When I ask for you to call me I don't get called. Customer service is not something people buy from you, it is what they expect when they buy your goods and services, because we all have a choice where we spend our money I wonder if you had spent £1400.00 you would be happy to be treated this way? No computer, no notification it was delayed and nobody who will talk to you. In addition to the above issues I was told at the point of purchasing the computer I was not allowed to pick it up from your offices and therefore had to pay £39 plus vat for the privilege of having it delivered. I was annoyed to discover that upon reading your terms and conditions (paragraph 7.5), that I was able to pick up the computer by prior agreement from the seller. Why was I told I could not do this at the point of purchasing the computer and was therefore charged £39 plus vat? I have deliberately truncated this letter as the number of calls and interactions with your staff have been too numerous to put in writing. I expect to receive a prompt reply and the delivery of my computer along with answers to my questions without any delay. I also expect compensation for the time, stress, cost of calls and delivery charge I have incurred in trying to resolve these issues. I wont be recommending them to any of my friends! |

From: Carole Oakley | posted: 09.06.2005 17:58 Absolutely sick to the back teeth of this lot - they never answer the phone - when they do youve waited 20 mins or longer - they promise to call u back - surprise - they dont - they promise delivery on a certain date - they dont - How much more can I take from this Company - they are absolutely useless - I had a £1000 laptop delivered for a surprise b/day present on 5th Feb 05 - all was fine except we did have problems with the Buscard - but sorted eventually. Few weeks later the top lid of the laptop cracked along the hinges - eventually after many hours of waiting on the phone for them to answer - they eventually picked it up and agreed to replace lid. All I though was well until the laptop came back with no crack in the lid - but scratches all over the top - I felt they had given me a secondhand laptop back - About 10 phone call attempts later I eventually had a row with a bloke called Sanj and he agreed to send us a replacement laptop with some extras - I was wary - My husband spoke to him on the phone and agreed - brand new laptop g'tee etc and they dont get their old laptop back till we get our new one. Eventually new one arrived - this one just keeps freezing up - I am in the middle of phone calls to them - as they NEVER RETURN YOUR CALLS EVER!!!!! i- As usual I was promised return calls to sort the problem out - I have left messages - but to no avail - I dont know what to do now - I think it will have to be court for this lot - I cannot believe how CRAP this company is - All I want is my birthday present to work - it is now 9th June and I have a frozen up laptop sitting in my lounge!!! CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS INCOMPETANT LOT - My Husband saw their advert as Award Winners !!!!! I will be contacting this magazine definintely!!! Carole Oakley 01268 541347 |

Many Thanks to all contributors. MESH if reading this sort yourselves out. Thanks David |
