From: Terry | posted: 01.11.2005 13:46 Well, I own both a Philips HDD100 and HDD070. The 100 has been faultless, except for the occasion when the hard disc connector worked loose on the main circuit board and I received the ! error symbol. Easily fixed. The smaller 070 on the other hand has been a nightmare and I can relate to all of you out there who have bought this player from new. There appears to be so many common problems with it. Mine will do everything it's supposed to as far as loading music onto it and upgrading firmware etc....it just won't start up on it's own, it shows the ! symbol every time. I've been around the formatting / re-installing loop so many times now with no success. Just look on Ebay at the number of faulty 070's for sale. |

From: sam | posted: 01.12.2005 02:52 I have the HDD065 after having it for over a month (and not using it in this time) thinking that i couldnt actually use the mp3 player because of the software (after following the tutorial on musicmatch, musicmatch would always freeze when it got to the transferring of the music onto the mp3 player) i actually gave up on it and was going to wait for my new computer to come so i could start a fresh with it and hopefully wouldnt have the same problems as i had now. well, until i got the mp3 player out today i decided to look at the instructions that came with the mp3 player to see if that could help me any more than the tutorial and it was so much better than the tutorial it had steps in it that the tutorial didnt have (or that i couldnt find) so after all this time i actually managed to put songs on my mp3 player :) but the only thing now is i cant use windows media player anymore, because of musicmatch windows media completely freezes when i open it so im now having to install and uninstall the musicmatch software when i want to put songs onto my mp3 player which is annoying but ive just got to see the results i get with my new computer i suppose oh and only one of the headphones actually work which is also annoying and also crackle when you move them around in the mp3 player. overall though im happy that i managed to get it working so i can actually get some use out of it now. |

From: Ciara | posted: 30.12.2005 11:33 I got one and it has been nothing but hell for me. I got it sept 04 and I couldn't get music on it to near enough november. Then by January it wouldn't go on at all, i tried changing the battery to no avail. So i took it back to Curry's where I bought it, they said they would try to fix it or give me a refund. So, they had it for 3 weeks before sending it to Philips, so Philips changed the harddisk and sent it back. Didn't work, it turned on and that was about it, the company denied offering a refund. So now i have no music whatsoever on my player and can't get it on as they have now changed software but it won't accept my plugin. So basically i have software which doesn't work and a faulty player which they won't take back. Waheyy. |

From: nishiki ying | posted: 17.01.2006 18:06 if you are using windows xp, the system will automatically pop up a new drive when you plug the Philips HDD 070. On the top, Go to "tool" then "files folder option", and choose "show all files and folder". Now you can draq and drop all your music files in your Philips HDD 070. dont need the stupid JukeBox!!! |

From: phllips cheap crap | posted: 10.03.2006 02:44 I have a hdd070/00 and hdd070/05 both have flicking screens.... I explained the problem to philips who told me that charging for 12 hours will sort the problem... They don't seem to have any technical support that can deal with this problem. If the units are faulty how the **** can charging for 12 hours resolve the problem... FYI some of these units are faulty there is a report in which mag.... some have been recalled... Bout' time watchdog dealt with this.. I have already spoken to trading standards :) |

From: Jo | posted: 10.04.2006 21:39 To the 'cheap philips crap' posting, I too had the flickering screen problem, and did manage after LOTS of phonecalls (not cheap) manage to get this repaired at Philips cost, even though it was just out of warranty. It is now working perfectly but I am always nervous that it will not recharge. Keep us all posted about the trading standards thing |

From: Tony | posted: 07.06.2006 00:12 Just another disgruntled customer with a HDD070 that has just frozen (for the umpteenth time) and now I can't reset it, format it or anything. What a heap of crap this thing is. Prior to this I had the unrecognising problem freqently. It's going in the bin very soon. |
