From: brian kirsch | posted: 17.11.2004 10:25 Beware the three year Warranty and Acer promises. It is virtually impossible to get through on the phone often being disconnected after spending 10 minutes pressing buttons for different options. Secondly the alternative is to email abnd the response time is 2-3 days. When they do respond it is not always helpful. FINALLY the recovery disc supplied by them was faulty and it seemsd that I must be penalised by having to return it and wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement to see if Computer can be rebooted. In the meantime with their guarantee I still have NOTHING. |

From: Dissatisfied | posted: 01.11.2005 18:08 Indeed, I have had a similar experience with Acer Support. I bought a highly priced Acer 8100 series laptop a few months back which failed after a few weeks. I attempted to contact Acer Support UK. Having spent hours being held in queues over several days I got through. I then had to wait several days for their transport provider to pick the failed laptop up. It is now over six weeks later, Acer have been almost impossible to contact and provided little feedback, they claim to be trying to replace the entire laptop. |

From: Another dillusioned | posted: 23.11.2005 09:48 You could atleast manage to get your notebook picked up. I have tried for three days - several attempts , still haven't been able to get in touch with the courier company. Have given up. Took it to staples where i bought it. left it with them to talk to the company and get things sorted. |

From: Dissapointed | posted: 10.03.2006 08:22 The support offered by Acer in the UK is appalling, Having suffered a complete failure of an almost new laptop, Acer proved to be exceptionally difficult to contact, their phone system (call centre) was almost totally unresponsive. On numerous occasions over a three month period ringing connections of over 15 minutes duration eventually just terminated. The company culture seems to be one of isolating customers from staff, management and information. Their target of a few days turn-around is farcical, they took about 3 months to replace the laptop. The attitude of the few staff that I spoke to varied from nonchalant to uncaring. |

From: farai | posted: 04.05.2006 12:59 Unfortunatly I too have experienced the dismal Acer support. I will not get in to details as i'm still very upset but i ended up selling the machine on ebay for parts and purchasing a new machine. I will not buy Acer or allow anyone i can influence to buy acer! |

From: David | posted: 19.05.2006 22:49 Hi I would just like to add my dissatisfaction to those above. I purchased an Acer travelmate 4650 primarily because I needed to burn DVD's. After 5 months it has never burned even one, and Acer only offer a return to factory solution. I cannot accept this as I use the PC for my work every day. Instead of trying to solve the problem they just try to avoid doing anything. Maybe I should have been more careful about the warranty - but I suggested to replace just the DVD unit (it unplugs in 2 seconds), but they stick to their policy........ NEVER EVER BY AN ACER IF YOU NEED TO GET GOOD AFTER SALES SERVICE |

From: JayMax | posted: 03.08.2006 21:12 Came across this whilst Googling for 'Acer warranty'... I'm just on the receiving end of a hdd failure on a 14 month old Aspire system, haven't been able to get through on the phone to Acer support at all, took 5 days for them to respond to an email, when they did they say they want £35+VAT just to look at it. I could buy a new identical 160Gb HDD for about the same price!!! Tried manufacturers website (Western Digital) to rma through them - no warranty offered by them, I must contact reseller. If I'd bought off WD I'd have gotten a 3 year warranty... However Acer only do 1 year as standard. So I pay the money to Acer, they rma it to WD and get a free exchange, Acer pocket the money... it stinks. Acer will never get a penny off me or anyone I advise again! |
