From: Lionel from France | posted: 30.10.2005 18:02 Hello, I have also problem with my Ferrari 3000. The main issue today is the crash of the laptop everyday. The PC just stops working like there was no-power at all. This is really frustrating. Always have to save your work every 30 s. And I am not talking about overheating that burns my left hand at this moment. I am unfortunately glad to see I am not the only one, but what a shame this PC has a such great name. Hey, what a miracle, I have been able to write this message in one shot. Cheers ! |

From: Dissatisfied | posted: 01.11.2005 18:03 I bought a highly priced Acer 8100 series laptop a few months back which failed after a few weeks. I attempted to contact Acer Support UK. Having spent hours being held in queues over several days I got through. I then had to wait several days for their transport provider to pick the failed laptop up. It is now over six weeks later, Acer have been almost impossible to contact and provided little feedback, they claim to be trying to replace the entire laptop. |

From: Luis Gonçalves | posted: 10.11.2005 23:15 One more not so happy acer ferrari owner I bought my ferrari 3000 laptop on the first day it was available. I was on vacation in Australia, Melborne, just a few days before the first race of the F1 Season of 2004 I haven't had major problems with my laptop. One battery dead and the problem with bluetooth after SP2 I'm still trying to find a solution to the bluetooth problem without the need of reinstall all the system. Acer Support forget it, i spent probably one hour at the phone for nothing because they didn't come with the solution for the bluetooth problem Heating is a major problem with this laptop! |

From: Alas | posted: 06.12.2005 20:43 I have formated my laptop and installed Xp SP2 (clean install). The Bluetooth was a little bit tricky to install. Actually,Microsoft installs its one bluetooth device which renders CRC Buetooth unuseable. In order to have it work properly you have to download the latest drivers from Acer and install the software. Next, you have to uninstall the bluethooth device and reboot. Windows will descover a bluetooth device and ask you for driver. You should pick the driver you just downloaded. If not, go to Device manager and change driver for the bluetooth device and update it with the newly downloaded driver. |

From: Goddie | posted: 07.12.2005 18:46 To all you guys who have problems with the heating, this is caused by dust in the heatsinks.. just clean it up.. but do it at your own risk because youll have to open your laptop and remove the heatsink from the CPU for a full cleanup.. anyway i have a A/c adapter problem now.. all the power buttons ( battery led and light led ) all go on and off.. my laptop beeps every x seconds. Wont startup at all etc etc.. bought new power supply for 100 bucks.. ( 70 euros ) and still have the problem, even after Acer said ' your AC adapter is broken '.. because the A/c only has 6 months of warranty i had to buy my own, noticing that it didnt even help.. now im sending my laptop back to them, but im sure that ill get problems with the warranty because i opened it already myself to clean it etc ( this was after the problem occured ) hope it all goes well.. im willing to pay some money but just want it to work.. now i want to have a desktop actually.. but no money for that. |

From: rodbin | posted: 16.12.2005 20:14 Oh Boy I wish I had seen this before I bought my new Ferrari 4006 WLM. Had a Acer Travelamate 800 before used 8 hours a day, perfect perfomer just got a little battered. So thought the Impact resiting high performance Ferrari would be a worthy succesor. Main problem is the XP 64 Nothing works with it without a lot of hassle. Virtualy all drivers are obsolete none of my printers work, bought a brand new Brother printer but driver would not load off disk had to download similar model from web with 64bit compatability. New Nokia 6680 will NOT connect to laptop and no indication of when drivers will be available. Support at Nokia simply said WE DO NOT SUPPORT XP64. I questioned Acer why they launched a product that is so incompatable and they said my reseller should have warned me!! As the reseller got the Acer on my instructions I do not have much recourse on him. Had to pay for a hole day of a technician to get basics going ont it, and have now spent 4 weeks of absolute hell getting things to work so I am too committed to return unit ..I still have to take my old Acer as Back Up!! Still if Ferrari are using the same Laptop for next years F1 we should see a continuation of the other teams hammering Ferrari! DO NOT BUY AN ACER FERRAIR WITH XP 64 |
