From: anon | posted: 11.02.2007 00:52 Heat in laptops is common these days...with processing power as big as ever the temperature these things generate is not what it use to be like...and with silent fans only coming on when really neccessary it means the user starts to panic about the heat. hdd temperature programs dont work that well...the only one to truly tell is the actually system monitors itself. a core of a CPU can run way above the 70's....the temperature most see in the 40's is the outer temperature. |

From: Henry Boler | posted: 13.02.2007 21:33 I would just like to add that i have had an Acer Ferrari 3000Lmi for 4 years now... this laptop has performed so well i cant believe you lot have these problems, it hasn't crashed once or caused evn one error, it all works fine and doesn't overheat and i do play som power consuming games on it aswell. So the chance of you having the problems with yours are no different to the odd defects that are built in every manufacturer |

From: emessari | posted: 21.02.2007 05:18 I purchased my Ferarri 4002 just over 12 months ago. For the first 10 months the laptop worked flawlessly, and i must say is a fantastic laptop for games and cad. About 3 months ago the lcd screen started to show black, with a very faded windows xp in the background. The laptop has been in for repairs 3 times, and has just failed again yesterday. The inverter has been replaced 3 times, the logic board has been replaced, the dvd drive has also been replaced. Although this has been very frustrating, the acer repairer in Brisbane has been excellent and have genuinely tried to fix this issue. I have no complaints at all about the repairer. The laptop is now out of warranty and is still not repaired. Has anyone had any similar issue?, if so how was the issue fixed. I mainly use the laptop for world of warcraft and cad 2005/2007. I have also found that the cpu temp can rise to just above 80 deg cel whilst playing WOW. |
