I am a newcomer to the world of computers When I try to play certain games on my computer I get a black screen when trying to start the game. I have been told that I need a new graphics card and I can buy one from a computer shop. Can you tell me how I find what sort of Mother board I have and if it will accept a new graphics card eg. Voodoo 3?

There's no way to diagnose your machine remotely. Best to take it back to where you bought it, or at least phone them and find out what sort of board and other components are installed.
