IDE controllers can't interleave reading and writing to drives in the same controller and you are less likely to suffer the writing error known as buffer under-runs if have the drive working from separate controllers What does this mean? How do you separate the drive controllers? |

From: Alex Cruickshank | posted: 21.01.2001 17:18 Most motherboards come with at least two, and sometimes four, IDE channels. Putting the source drive on one (i.e. connecting the cable to one motherboard connector) and the writer on another will solve most problems. |
