From: Fred Watkins | posted: 26.07.2005 17:58 Hello all, I know very little about computers except they're great for playing games on, but my new Toshiba laptop doesn't stand a chance with the ones coming out these days. Is it possible to buy an external graphics card to help the performance? Please help Fred |

From: Randy | posted: 28.09.2005 01:21 Geeks.com has a USB-to-vga adapter for under $70; not sure how powerful the graphics are. Tigerdirect.com may also have a similar item for sale. At one time, you could also buy PC Card-based graphics adapters, but I haven't seen any in a while. |

From: atkoj | posted: 20.10.2005 18:28 The quick answer is no i'm afraid! Laptop graphics are not upgradeable, this is why people buy desktops - laptops are obsolete within 6 months gaming wise. Long answer: (i) rarely, some laptops can actually have the internal graphics board swapped out and replaced with a faster one. contact your vendor. (ii) the USB / VGA adaptors won't be an improvement. (iii) proper external graphics cards don't really exist. |
