From: Luca | posted: 30.07.2005 14:52 After having recharged exhausted batteries the camera does not turn on anymore. Just the green light on the top of the camera blinks and a beep rings. Does anybody have the same problem ? Do you know how to fix it ? |

From: Alessandro | posted: 18.08.2005 17:39 I've the same problem, the camera have this malfunction many time, but i usually resolved in following empiric way: pop the batteries and after few seconds push the batteries, open the camera to make a photo and switch the button to make a photo, try many times and the camera magically relive.... for a year this is a good solution but now nothing to do...i thing is a bug of this model. |

From: Keith | posted: 06.10.2005 10:22 I have the same problem and I read elsewhere that there's a well known bug in the battery/power management software. I received a quote yesterday of £110 from Olympus to fix it. Alessadro, thanks for the advice. Do you mean take out the batteries and put them in again and then try to take a photo and after several tries this works? Any solution would be great, I'm just not clear on how you got it to work. Thanks again! |

From: pauline | posted: 29.01.2006 16:50 Same or similar problem except mine has jammed open. It is 2 and a half years old and Olympus want £111 to fix it so I'm shopping for a new camera! Unless of course, anybody knows how to fix it or someone who can. Can't understand how it can cost so much to repair but I won't be buying another Olympus. |

From: Tony | posted: 28.01.2007 22:40 My camera did the same thing. It just died in Dubrovnik as my sister was walking down the aisle. AGH! So I've bought a Fuji. I reckon the micro switch when I open the front door is faulty. Not a happy camper and won't be buying another Olympus. I'm shocked at the prices you guys have been quoted. I didn't bother to leave mine in anywhere I did well not to smash it to pieces and fire it into the sea. |
