Help!
I am thinking of buying a new PC to play games and edit DV movies on. I am thinking of a 1.4Ghz P4 but have read nothing good about it. Does anyone have one or can anyone recommend Mesh? I also hear that there is likely to be a 2Ghz version soon together with a 478 pin processor rather than a 423 pin processor. Has anyone else heard this? It is one of those situations where you don't know whether to hold fire or just go and buy the damn thing!

From what we've seen, the AMD Athlon knocks spots off the P4 in most departments, and there are rumours of a P4 price drop on the way too, so if you can wait for a while, it would probably be worth it.
On the other hand, there's never a good time to buy - prices and relative performance will always drop fast!

I have recently purchased a new computer with an AMD athlon 1.2 Ghz processor and it is really very fast, not to mention quite a bit cheaper than the P4. I dont know which is the more powerfull but it really is quick enough for anything I throw at it!
