I have a DV 3010 but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be the facilty of enabling me to take videos in the dark because they never turn out right. The sound is there but it is too dark that you can not see anything. I would have thought that there would have been a light or something to use, like a normal video camera.

Try setting the ISO to 400 and the EV setting to minimum (-1.8).

That seemed to make the video lighter on the lcd. Havent tried it actually recording though.

Let me know if you get it to work better or if you have found a way round this.
