From: Tony Babington | posted: 29.10.2005 18:31 I am having a problem booting my laptop. Over the last few weeks the power on button has been increasingly intermittent at booting the computer and has now stopped working completely. I have found that if I press the mode button on the front of the lap top for 3 seconds and go into digital mode pressing the play/pause button will boot the computer. Has anyone any idea what the problem is, or a good repair workshop to send it to for repair? Reply to eutectic@tiscali.co.uk |

From: Zhorgh | posted: 05.01.2006 20:49 I had that problem, try to press the button and the area just at the right of the button at the same time to see if it turns on. If it does your problem resides on the contact between the mainboard and the small pcb where the button is installed. I solved my problem by checking continuity and found a broken solder joint at a pin of the connector. I recommend taking the computer to someone who has some soldering skills because it is needed some precision to make the job right. Hope it helps. |
