From: lestopdog | posted: 17.11.2005 22:27 MY friends Acer laptop wont start up. The light is on the power adapter when its plugged in but the darn thing wont turn on! Any suggestions on what is wrong or how to fix it? |

From: garths | posted: 21.11.2005 03:42 Experiencing same problem on ACER Extensa 2300. Unit has been in repair centre three times with same fault, and the technicians tell me that they get a lot of same problem with various ACER laptops. Probably an overheating problem, common with many laptops. Fortunately, original fault occurred while still under warranty. It's now out of warranty, except for the 3 month extension granted following each repair. Have told Call Centre (where you get a "case number" for repair at franchised workshop) that if it happens again I want a replacement machine. In the meantime try removing and reinstalling battery pack, then attempt power up from mains adaptor. Regards If you get any additional information, send to garths@ihug.co.nz |
