Does anyone have any reviews or comments on the sony vaio tx laptop? I did see some negative ones about the vaio (not tx) earlier. My daughter wants one for christmas and i want to make sure it is a good computer. Thanks

Most of what I've heard about the TX series has been pretty positive, but I haven't found many people who've actually got one. The tech specs are fairly good (although they should be for the price).

What's your daughter likely to use the machine for?

mainly for doing what teenagers do - internet, emailing chatting and college work! She can also take it with her so she needs something sturdy but light as she stays away a couple of nights a week

I love that it weighs less than 3 pounds, has a full size keyboard and a super sharp and bright screen. It has replaced aSony SRX 99 that I've used for 3 years. I've got a gig of RAM and 60 gigs on the hard drive. I'm currently using the Cingular 30 day free trial but I hope to use a Verizon Samsung 710 via bluetooth as my modem in the future. We did have the internet on the 405 freeway in LA as well as on the beach in Kona.

sounds like fun! I did get one for my daughter and she loves it. I would like one for myself the screen is great.
