From: nig | posted: 15.03.2001 00:05 I read the review at: http://www.itreviews.com/hardware/h187.htm And think that whoever wrote it is too used to computer software. I don't have a310 yet but for the price it is unbelievable, to think of the price you would pay for a good cd portable, this has cd, mp3 and vcd. Obviously the person who reviewed it doesn't appreciate anything other than sound, the biggest plus of this player is the ability to play video. He quoted - For just over a hundred pounds, this player is pretty good value, but it would have impressed us more if the VideoCD compatibility were dropped in favour of higher quality components, software and documentation. I just can't understand how unreal the end of his review turned out, I'm getting one anyhow:-) |

From: Rob | posted: 23.05.2001 09:25 I bought the Napa DAV311 (which is the next generation). It plays MP3 and CD-DA with no problems. VideoCD is another story. It recognises the disc, but when you start playing it, the picture is unwatchable. It seems te be "pausing" momentarily every second. My theory is that because my VideoCDs are in PAL format (25fps) they cannot keep up with NTSC. This may be rubbish, but there is a problem. :( If you want it for VideoCD, then I advise against this product. |

From: george | posted: 04.07.2001 20:40 I thought that NTSC was worse quality than PAL but I could be wrong. |
