From: Mike Strong | posted: 30.03.2001 23:33 I need advice to create the smartest SOHO setup I can. For MANY bizarre reasons, I must use ISDN instead of cable, ADSL, or satellite. LONG STORY. ADSL may come out our way in a year or two, but we live way out in the country on some acerage, and it won't be anytime soon. I won't get into the satellite issues w/you unless you are really curious. I would like to make the smartest choice of modem and router, or of a modem-router-combo unit. My problem is that no one uses ISDN anymore, so I cannot find anyone with knowledge of current, smart product choices. Can ANYONE help me? I have Windows 2000 Server, Windows 98, and Windows ME machines on my local net; however, I can slap Linux on a machine if that would help. Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |
