I built my own computer and sometimes it freezes. Especially when I try to play games.
Here are the specs:
ECS 848P-A7 motherboard
Intel P4 2.66 GHz processor
2 GB Corsair DDR ram
200 GB hard drive
DVD-R/RW
e-GeForce FX 5200 video card

I think my problem has something to do with my video card. Let me know what you think

Maybe this is a little late but, It sounds to me like your pc is getting too hot. You need to get more cooling in there. Fans, ect.

Are you running spyware blockers, 3rd party firewall? I had same problem with webroot spyware blocker interacting with McAfee AV. Shutdown all before you game!

I agree with Cake. First make sure there is enough air flow. If you made it yourself check the BIOS voltage setting for the graphic slot. Check the voltage on your ram too. If the V setting is too high for that ram it will cause an overheat and freeze games. If that does not work try relaxing the timing on the ram or set the BIOS to auto detect.
