From: Alex | posted: 09.04.2001 14:23 It does seem a bit tricky to find these boards, and they're not cheap, either. I suspect the OEM PC manufacturers are snapping up a lot of the current stock, so it might take a couple of months for them to float down to us mere mortals. Alex |

From: Hafiz | posted: 20.04.2001 04:11 By the way, has there been any direct comparison between this two motherboards (apart from the price)? Most vendors in the UK are out of stock especially for MS-6341 and the price quoted for this was around £130 incl. VAT. I noticed the MS-6341 reviewed here was £94. Was this a mistake? Please let me know where to get it if it wasn't. Cheers. |

From: Richard | posted: 20.04.2001 23:51 I am in a similar position I think. I am upgrading to an AMD1200 and I don't know whether to go for ASUS V7133 and stick with my SDRAM or go for a MSI K7 master and pay extra for some DDR memory. What do you all think. The MSI K7master is availble at www.microdirect.co.uk. , well it was today anyway. |

From: Russell | posted: 23.04.2001 14:18 I've just got the A7A-266 (has SDR and DDR slots) for a work machine and it's been a hog to install. I do this full-time so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing-but had to remove all the hardware and stick 1 component in at a time and try to boot up. Took ages to sort BIOS out. It reminds me of the K7-V (slot-A from last June) which was as problematic. I have an Asus A7V-133 at home which is fabulous and never had these problems. My advice is hold off for a couple of months to let them iron the fiddly bugs out. |

From: Alex Cruickshank | posted: 23.04.2001 14:45 Mistake? Us? Perish the thought... No, not in this case. The price quoted was the manufacturer's estimated retail price, but it sounds as though scarcity has driven up the price at the retail end. For this, and various other reasons, hanging on a month or so before attempting to buy might be a wise move. Alex |
