From: Andy | posted: 23.01.2006 21:45 I need to be able to display 4 600x800 windows on one screen without overlap. Hence I am looking for a setup which allows me to display 1200x1600 resolutions. I think I need to get a new graphics card and monitor but not sure what to get. Reading a lot of reviews of both monitors and graphics cards at the minute but the reviews do not seem to specify what the maximum resolution is. Has anyone else got a set up displaying 1200x1600 and hence recommend what I need. Do I need to spefically check the monitor graphics card will dsiisplay thresoltion or will most new products have this facility anyway? |

From: Nacho Eater | posted: 31.01.2006 23:31 I would get two 17" or 19" LCD monitors from Tigerdirect.com or some web site like it. If this is for work or a project that does not require a lot of fast moving graphics you can get the monitors for around $200 each. Find a graphics card with dual DVI outs and you are good to go. If fast graphics are not a concern the card won't be that expensive ($80-150 bucks). Your Windows desktop can span the two monitors verticaly or horizontaly depending on how your workstation is set up. You can find some widescreen monitors that might do 2400x1280 (all four 600x800 screens in a row) but just the monitor will cost more than the dual screen setup. Here is a link to Dell's high res monitor if that is the route you want to go. http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/products/monitors/topics/en/monitor_3007wfp?c=us&l=en&s=gen |
