Is there any way of moving everything from one hard drive to a new hard drive to give you an exact copy of files,settings basically everything you have installed in one easy go ?

clone 1 hard drive 2 another hard drive?
yes is the answer.
software called norton ghost.works very well...
other way of doing it,is to put another hard drive in p.c on slave
then copy all contents to new hard drive...

Suggest you read all on line info on this subject before trying. Sometimes Ghost will not provide a bootable partition. Sometimes it will.
If you are not looking to transfer the OS then get a bootable floppy with the XCOPY file put one drive as master and the other as slave or master on the secondary IDE and then A:\Xcopy C: D: /S should do the trick. In Windows ensure all files are showing and Copy/Paste.
