From: Paolo | posted: 02.05.2001 03:35 if it is possible I will very much appreciate a direct answer to my e-mail paolo866@yahoo.com I am now living temporarily in China, Beijing due to my moving job. I heard terrible things done by Chinese computer re-sellers: Some of them re-mark AMD CPU or overclock them selling for example a AMD 1.0 GHz as 1.2GHz !? It is also common selling a AMD xGHz 100 as AMD xGHz 133 or AMD xGHz 266 (maybe the last 2 are the same?) Some sellers even sell SONY DVD Players, but in fact the player comes from a Chinese unknown manufacturer (relabeled of course) My case: I recently purchased a CPU AMD The seller said it is a 1.2GHz and 266 bus Can someone suggest me a way how to tell this is true? From the initial boot screen I see: CPU speed: 1200 MHz CPU code 0642 But after 1 or 2 hours often the CPU speed decreases to 1.1 GHz! Do we have possibility to tell what kind of CPU it is from the label? I guess the label may be easily counterfait Can someone provide a benchmark to run under win2000 or winME (I istalled both OS)? Thanks Paolo paolo866@yahoo.com |
