From: carlbo | posted: 12.03.2006 09:25 After 5years usinga Mesh I decided to get a new tower with better motherboard, processor, ram etc to keep pace with modern changes. I ordered by phone with great care of specification, it was a simple basic order, almost imposible not to supply to specifications. It arrived poorly packed in unsealed oversized box, a foot was missing from base of tower, and no documentation at all. But that was the least of my worries, just the start of a nightmare! The construction was good and well put together. Sadly I ordered XP Home to be installed which was a big, very big error. These guys at Mesh seem to have little know how with software, and I'm still sorting out the settings from an unreal state! Although stereo speakers are supplied with the tower,I declined those and saved £5. I found the microphone facility had been disabled,so no voice or voip possible. When I asked about this they said they assumed I was going to use surround sound,so disabled microphone. This turned out to be a real problem,as mesh Technical help dept did not have a clue how to re-enable it, which is unbelieveable! . I found Skype on the web, and sorted in out myself. I stressed on ordering that NO trial software was to be installed. However I found they installed both an AV trial prog and Tiscali ! The AV prog was easy to get rid of,but Tiscali is not easily completely cleared off your PC. I tried Rick Selby's site on the internet, which says it is impossible to clear Tiscali off the PC. What I learnt was that Mesh construct PC's very well, they are good at that. But I found to let them anywhere near installing software is a NO NO area! I found their Technical help dept very limited in 'know how' in fixing their own builds.I am still working on this mess as sure as hell I am on stony ground to expect mesh to put anything right with software.I was right to trust Mesh to construct a good base unit, I was equally wrong to let them install basic software. My opinion is that mesh have lost the plot in this supplying PC's game, and should stay with building base units only.My first PC from them 5 years ago was perfect, yet 5 years later they appear to have slumped badly, shame. |
