From: Steve | posted: 29.03.2006 18:31 Screen Flicker I bought my machine end of Feb '06 and immediately noticed a slight intermittent screen flicker - almost like the screen is thinking about blanking out. Got a replacement from Currys but immediately noticed the same problem. Tried everything the help desk could throw at me and still have the problem. I love the machine apart from this annoying querk. Has anybody had the same problem and resolved it? I would like to keep the machine but cannot put up with this annoying habit during prolonged use. |

From: Brain | posted: 02.04.2006 23:16 Looked at one of these today and must say it's a lovely piece of kit. The nicest keyboard of any of the laptops on offer there and a very bright, sharp screen, though of course quite compact. On looking at the X51 and other laptops around it in the shop one thing became very noticeable after about an hour's running. The top of the case - next to the touchpad- was getting really hot. Significantly more so than the larger models. Since my last laptop was killed by the heat (more or less melted the case in the end) that put me off a bit. |

From: David Hobbs | posted: 05.04.2006 08:24 Hi, Just wondering about the screen ficker issue. I have the same problem on my X51 which I bought in March 06. I must say that it's an excellent machine, and I love working with it ... except for the screen flicker which will give you a headache after prolonged use. I think that I'll go back to the shop and see if the display machines have the same problem. Did anybody have the problem and solve it with new drivers or BIOS update or something? |
