From: Pivot | posted: 27.04.2006 14:37 I have just bought this laptop and the only complaint I have is that the left-hand side shift key is turning out to be too tiny. I am a lazy typist and having a large shift like on a full sized keyboard is really important. Ah well. The other thing is that the keyboard has the Y and Z reversed, so that it is QWERZ, which is also hard to get used to. I really like the size and speed, though, and these little things are forgivable. |

From: Jamie | posted: 29.04.2006 18:44 Just bought one today - and like it very much! One question though - is the plastic cover over the screen meant to be left in place or removed - it just seems very thick for a piece of packaging. what have everyone else done? |

From: Adrian | posted: 02.05.2006 02:03 Jamie, I left the plastic cover on for a couple of days then took it off - peeling the plastic off the screen, like on a new mobile phone, is really one of the privileges of being a new owner! I think the screen is fine without that thick cover. Pivot, where - as in which country - did you buy your X51? Mine has the traditional (UK/Irish) QWERTY keyboard. But keyboards - and this was especially true of computers' typewriter predecessors - vary depending on the main language of a country, and hence which are the more "important" letters of the alphabet. |

From: Ashley | posted: 03.05.2006 08:07 Hi, Picked up my x51 yesterday from PC world. Very pleased so far. I have to say that I have found this site really useful. It convinced me to go ahead after 4 weeks faffing about and I have also cut and pasted the useful comments into my own document which has more info than the manual! Only issue I have is calibrating the battery , I have tried several combinations of pressing DEL during start up but with no success |

From: Adrian | posted: 05.05.2006 13:35 Ashley, as you might have seen from earlier postings on this site I also had trouble calibrating the battery. The trick for me was not to "Restart" the machine, because the moment between being Off and starting again is too brief. Instead, first have your X51 properly off. Then power it on, and be prepared to hit the 'Delete' button almost immediately - as soon as you see the first flicker of light on the screen. The window of opportunity is brief, so be quick! |

From: nick | posted: 08.05.2006 10:40 Does the X51 have a built-in multi card (memory card) reader? This isn't listed on the specs. |
