From: James Thomas | posted: 02.07.2006 14:25 Hiya everyone! I have an X51 myself - and have no major grumbles apart from a one thing which has been mentioned before; 1 - Sometimes the keyboard stops working - the laptop works fine but im unable to input anything using the keyboard, so have to reboot. Also, is it possible to connect this laptop to my TV as a video output? I know there is an output but is this only to conect it to a PC monitor? Any help will be appreciated! |

From: wsmcf | posted: 06.07.2006 21:52 I had my X51 stolen, liked it so much I immediately bought the X52 which I thought was an upgrade but it has no PCMCIA port, only an Express port? Does anyone know if I can buy an adapter, I desperately need to use my 3G/GPRS PCMCIA Card when I am out of the office. By the way, other than that I am chuffed with the X52. Please let me know on wsmcf@aol.com. |

From: Vincent Kelly | posted: 10.07.2006 20:54 Having major probs with my Philips Freevents X50 The battery doesn't appear to charge correctly (I get max 1 hour now on battery instead of at least 3 hours previously) and the system thinks the laptop is on constant charge...has anyone had the same prob ?? Is this a WIndows issue or a physical problem with the batteries ? Has anyone found a support contact with Philips...their main site has no support for this product ? Any suggestions would be gratefully received Thanks |

From: Ian B | posted: 11.07.2006 12:19 I have recently bought an X52 which is great. However I want to use on my external Samsung Syncmaster 191t 19" monitor at 1280 x 1024 but I can only seem to get a max of 1024x768 with the Intel graphics software. Can anybody shed any light? Also can anybody recommend a good docking station? |

From: Ian | posted: 15.07.2006 08:58 Useless! The X51 maybe pretty but the support non-existent. The Philips website doesn't recognise that it even sells norebook so you can't register and therefore can't ask Philips any questions. PC World are just as bad, sending you on to partsmaster for accessory queries who then don't recognise the unit either. nutian@hotmail.com |

From: Steven | posted: 25.07.2006 11:17 Yeah this is weird, phoned philips, who catagorically state they dont make/sell laptops, however the X52 in PC world comes in a branded Philips box, with philips manuals, and has philips written on the laptop, so unless this is just a brand tie in for a dixons group own notebook, Im not confident on buying one, even though it looks very good, for the price. I dont suppose anyone whose bought one knows whether you get the driver cds with it, or just a crappy restore cd? If I got one I doubt Id keep XP home on it. |

From: Steven | posted: 25.07.2006 12:19 Hi, The site you need is the Dixons group support site, http://www.pcservicecall.co.uk although they dont appear to make this very apparant, you can get the drivers and info from there for the X series laptops. Having phoned philips who catagorically told me they didnt make laptops, then spotted a press release that said they did in conjuction with dixons, its kind of shoddy. My guess is these are 3rd party products aquired/built by dixons group and then badged as philips. But now Ive found the drivers Im sort of more inclined to buy the damn thing as it is a rather good laptop for the price. |

From: notebook123 | posted: 28.07.2006 16:38 Hi, I need an urgent response to this as I need a laptop very quick. Can the X52 be upgraded to Windows Vista? I was at PC World and noticed that the Windows Sticker did not say 'Vista Compatible' or to this affect, the surrounding notebooks seem to have this sticker. I know that lack of this label does not neccessarily mean it cannot be upgraded. I will really appreciate a quick respoinse from anyone who has any idea on this issue. Many thanks in advance! |
