We bought a VAIO Sony VGCV2M in July '05 and since then it went back to Sony Service & Support 3 times... Last one dated this week, when our fabulous computer refused even to light on !!!
We bought this highly expensive equipment for its supposed reliability and design... And now we are again struggling with the aftersale service to get this problem fixed.
To make your life simpler, simply DO NOT GO FOR VAIO !!!

They are very expensive, compared to brands like Acer, as well!
I am going to be buying a laptop soon, I won't get a Sony one! I will probably go for a Acer or Samsung or something like that.
