From: Carol | posted: 26.07.2006 05:51 I have Goback from norton system works 2004 installed on a 40 gig hard drive. All of a sudden I get an error message that says "Norton go back has detected its partition signiture in the MBR on disk 3 but links to norton go back data0.bin are broken. To fix this problem Norton go back will need to scan your hard disk for its data file and then restore the mbr and/or bpb sector. Until the problem is fixed you will not be able to access this disk. problem was caused by a utility such as virus checker, multiboot manager or disk editor. It asks if I want to scan the disk to fix the problem and I click yes but the problem is not fixed. I emailed the problem to symantec and they told me to do an Fdisk /mbr which i did. Now the drive will not only not boot when i put the drive in a computer as a slave to the master on primary IDE, it won't even see the drive to back it up. It says its there in the bios and obviously since I get this message, it is there but not seen. How do I get into the drive to take off my files and then reformat and rebuild.. Need some help. |
