From: Katie | posted: 08.09.2006 14:37 I don't understand this either?! The X53 has a ReWriter MultiDrive, whilst the X52 has a DVD ReWriter Drive, but I don't know what that really means. The X52 seems to be slightly quicker with a 1.67 GHz processor, whilst the X53 has a 1.66 GHz processor. The X53 has a quicker CD-ROM speed, but a slower DVD-RW speed. The X53 also has Microsoft Works 8.5 instead of 8.0. It does seem to be an upgrade, the only thing that doesn't make sense is the processor. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. |

From: Steven | posted: 10.09.2006 17:26 Thats the only difference I could discern, other than that the x53 is (or was) about 50 quid cheaper. I got the X52 just as they were releasing the X53, Its a wonderful laptop, but it appears to have been superceded by the X53 so you would probably have trouble finding it. To be honest I dont think the X53 is a bad buy for the price either, Both the T2050 and T2300 (x53 and x52) chips clock at 1.6 so I doubt performance of similar tasks would be affected that much. My guess would be, theyve done this to keep the lowest possible entry point for an 12inch Intel Duel Core ultra portable laptop, as a few other companies were creeping in on the sub 800 mark in this respect. |
