From: Rico | posted: 07.01.2007 14:21 Noticed a few having the problem of wireless connection dropping now and again with Philips X56? A quick search at intel or latest drivers for wireless adapter - in my case 'Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG' http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro3945abg/index.htm There you'll find latest drivers. Come either as driver only or driver and Intel software. I installed larger Intel 'software and driver' and now have Intel PROset/wireless controlling connection instead of XP. Weather it's that or latest drivers I dunno, but not had a dropped connection since. You can hand control of wireless connections back to XP from within the Intel app. if desired though the Intel app. is very similar to the XP one. May be worth trying the smaller driver only first. Certainly seems to have cured the connection drop issue for me. |
