From: Jon | posted: 01.03.2007 13:19 Hi there I have a problem with my ACER TravelMate 2700. If I plug it into the mains it will only boot if there is a charge in the battery. It will not boot at all if the battery is not in place. If there IS a charge in the battery the machine will use battery power rather than mains power until the battery is exhausted - sometimes. Other times it will use mains power and then at a time to suit itself will switch to battery power. The orange battery-charging light either does not come on at all, or it blinks. I assume this means that the battery is not charging. Whilst I could (and probably should) buy a new battery, it concerns me that the thing will not boot without the battery. It has been used in the past with no battery. I believe the battery is now completely discharged so I cannot boot the machine at all. Any ideas greatfully received. |
