From: Mercury | posted: 12.08.2001 17:40 Working on a Sunday is'nt much fun, thought I'd scive for a minute and find out about ITV Digital. I over heard a conversation in the staff room earlier, they were talking about getting the internet through the TV, without a PC or cable. Is this true, cause I dont have a PC at home, it would be great if I could gain access to my mail at home, without buying a Computer. I'm also interested in watching football, providing I dont have to keep working weekends! So, do you think it would be wise for me to invest in this Channel, without spending a fortune on a PC, or have I totally mis-understood what I over heard? |

From: Alex | posted: 14.08.2001 18:49 Set-top Internet boxes have been around for quite a while, usually requiring cable. But there's no reason why the download side couldn't be done through an aerial - I think there's spare bandwidth in the UHF signal. If you don't have cable, though, I suspect it would tie up your analogue phone line to send data. Alex |
