From: Mike C | posted: 22.10.2001 14:42 Having now used Win XP for the last month, thanks to where I work it's almost compulsory, I suddenly find myself in the quite horrendous situation of actualy admiring a piece of software Microsoft has written. It's stable, solid, pretty fast ( on a P3 laptop with 256Mb RAM), the plug and play works very well and little features like the remote desktop stuff is extremely nice, if like me, you have to support multiple small european offices. It's taken them a while, but they've finally come through with a decent product. I would certainly advice anyone looking at a OS upgrade to consider it. Even in a version 1 situation, I have found no glaring bugs. |

From: Alex | posted: 30.11.2001 09:20 Having now reviewed it (see in the Operating Systems section of this site) we've come to the same conclusion. It's great for new machines, but a pain in the neck for upgrades. Alex |
