From: a reader | posted: 30.11.2001 09:17 Hi - I found your review of this unit helpful however I notice that you, like my local dealer, make an issue of the portability of data written by this device. I am unclear what you mean. Are you saying that the data written by this device cannot be read using a normal DVD Rom drive, or that if you use a UDF type format as per CDR/RW then portability will be a problem (which I would expect) ? Is it possible to use this device to 'master' a disk to make the data portable? ...as opposed to the topping-up of a disk (for example using Windows Explorer in the way that CDR's *CAN* be used, but don't have to be used). As I'm about to invest in one of these units very soon I would be grateful for some clarification as Panasonic themselves seem uncertain about this! kind regards Mark |
