From: Rich | posted: 08.12.2001 02:50 If you are a PDA, digital camera, or laptop user, you might want to be just a little careful in purchasing IBM's Microdrive. IBM has stated that they will not warranty their Microdrive, “even if it is one day out of warranty”. (Their exact words.) We owned one with about 30 hours on it and died. We went through four people at IBM; no one seemed to care. (They also “inhale” battery power. Our normally 5 hour PDA lasted about 40 minutes.) |

One GB CF card costs almost a thousand USD(just checked the price at http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?masterid=518434). Energy inhalation does not bother me, as I use storage cards temporarily, i.e. copiing from a library one of my theses of university in pocket word format to main memory, read and highlight it, then store back. Like this, for me it was a good opportunity to extend memory for storing even powerpoint presentetions or so. But allegedly my Jornada 545 does not support CF2 format, only the regular one. Now I run on 256MB CF but seems not enough for all my lexicons, dictionaries, theses, maps pictures musics... Please advise me on your type of PDA. Or any good site on upgrading my one.
