I am wanting to buy a scanner for about £50 - £90 it will only be needed for A4 paper, and used for both photographs and text.I wish to get the best i can for that money!! Any suggestions would be extremley helpful! Thanks.

Have a quick look in the Scanners section of this site (from the 'Jump to...' menu on the right) and then click on the 'Compare prices' link. You should get quite a few that will fit your specification.

Any scanner with a resolution of 1200 will do photos (remembering that the higher the res. the longer it takes to scan. Mustek do a couple of excellent value ones within your price range as do HP and several others all with very good quality and can be bought from good pc stores or online (often cheaper but check carriage fees) :)
