From: Robert Francis | posted: 07.07.2002 14:07 I am thinking of buying the Multivision Vision Gold pc. This pc gained an award in the latest issue of PC Plus magazine and is great value for money. the specs are: 1.9GHz Athalon, 60gb harddrive, Geeforce 4 440 graphics, soundblaster audigy soundcard, 256meg ddr memory, 5 point surround speakers, windows xp, 2 years onsite warranty, Mitsubishi 17inch flat screen monitor all for £821 inc vat. Has anyone purchased their pc from Multivision.? Would you recommend them? This is my first pc so i want to make sure that i have made the right choice. So i need a company with good after sales and tech support. Thanks Diolch Yn Fawr |

From: Andy Foxhall | posted: 09.07.2002 20:30 I purchased a multivision pc (vision choice mx plus, AMD Atholon xp1700+)in January 2002. It was my first pc and like you I'd read rave reviews about it. It was sent out with a faulty modem, so went back the next day. Then I found I couldn't defragment it(very important to be able to do so), so it went back again. They wouldn't send out an onsite engineer making that aspect of the guarentee almost worthless. Initially, I found it very hard to recommend Multivision. But then I thought maybe I had just been a little unlucky. To be fair to MV, they repaired the problems I have had relatively quickly, and now the PC has been trouble free since Feb, and is a cracking computer. 5.1 speakers are fantastic, second to none. AMD Athlon is much better and quicker then the equivalent pentium. And, ofcourse you would have seen the news recently about buying a pc from Tiny and Time, and trouble people have had tracing pc's that have been returned for repair!! SO DON'T BUY FROM THEM!! So, yes I would recommend Multivision. I have had a few problems, but they have solved them for me promptly and politely. Hope this helps!! |

From: Robin Shale | posted: 25.07.2003 14:14 Dear sirs, I purchaesd a multivision computer just under One year ago. While the computer is a very good spec. It has gone wrong a few times and I have had nothing but trouble from Multivision. Very basically my main points are below: The worst automated phone system I have come accross. They never ring back couriers that go to wrong addresses 6yr warranty of which the 1st 3 yrs are on site just doesn't exsist. It's not till you buy a system then look at the small print that the on site part is at there discression. If they had sent an engineer to me then they could of fixed my problems. But I had to keep sending it back to them. They were fixing what they though was the problem, but weren't. Severe lack of 'Cutomer service' from the department. They weren't keen on listening atall. If something didn't fit into there rules and regs, then they didn't want to know. I had to get an independant company to fix my system for me at a cost. Of which I am trying to get refunded. I could go on. I have been in touch with Watchdog, pczone, computer shopper/byuer, trading standards, and their managing director. I am now stuck with HAVING a pc rather than one I wanted, because of my lack of faith that If anything else goes wrong in the remaining 5yrs warranty (which I'm sure it will) they again wont be able to solve it. As with some of these magazine companies, they are quick to take your £1500 from you, but very slow to respond to any warranty/customer needs. I will not buy anything else from this company again. I thought I would let you know my feelings Regards Robin Shale |

From: Sarah D-H | posted: 01.09.2003 12:53 I bought a MV computer about two months ago and am delighted with it. However it took 6 weeks to arrive instead of the 31/2 it was supposed to, but customer sales were well informed and able to speak english as opposed to tech which for me was essential. I would recommend them to other buyers- fantastic value for money. |

From: keith myers | posted: 17.09.2003 08:01 having seen multivision's advert in pc plus i opted to buy the top model AI 3200. with the upgrade pack i.e fx 5600 graphics, 1 gb ram etc. The pc arrived 7 days later. After setting up we discovered that, 1) the graphics card was only the fx 5200 & 2)the dvd-rom was infact a cd -rw. On contacting multivision they asked if i could change out the items myself, no problem i said. The stipulation was that I exchanged the items, bagged up, with the courier before the replacements would be handed over. Suprise... the dvd - rom was there but NO graphics card. After several calls to multivision i was astonished to find out that the production manager had stopped the shipment of the 5600 as he had decided that we were only due the 5200. So, there we were, left with a pc with no graphics card. After a very heated conversation with customer services i assured them that the whole unit was being returned. Within the hour another call confirmed that the 5600 card was on it's way. Subsequently the upgraded pc (!!) was fired up & all aok. So my advice to any body buying mail order is to check the spec of your system on arrival & make sure you get what you pay for. The plus side was that the tech help line did help when asked. |

From: Disgruntled | posted: 19.09.2003 08:43 I bought a PC from this company in December 02, I recently discovered that the 2600 AMD Athlon I had purchased was in fact running at 1.3, the fun started when I tried to contact them. Worst automated phone system I have ever had the misfortune to call, what made things worse was the fact you have the opportunity to press the star key and leave a message, THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK.....EVER !, Save yourselves the stress and go elsewhere ! |

From: Anita Geer | posted: 25.09.2003 21:50 I bought a multivision computer after spending months finding out about P.C.s. They definately seemed the best and cheapest option and were most human and least 'push-it-down-ya-throat ' sales wise ,when I phoned to check details .That was Feb. this year , one of their GO systems ,XP2700+ . Last month the modem died and had to be replaced , and now the hard drive has broken ! Yes they will replace it on site (though they wanted me to send it off) ,but is that unlucky or what ? And ,they are slowing down ! February , as a new user , I got through to them reasonably quickly , but this time it took 4 days(no , they dont phone back any more ) My verdict ;a cracking company offering brilliant value,BUT ,growing too rapidly for their existing staff to deal with .My fan is noisy yes , but I would still chose them to buy another computer and hope they take on more staff. I heard lots of P.C horror stories , and I should be one really , but I do still think they are a fair company |
