Can anyone help me find a power supply for a Gateway Astro? It seems they are a bit hard to come by these days. -thanks

I replace power unit did not fit my power problem, to the main board, it must be the motherboard.

I had a totally dead Astro computer to repair and thought at first it was the power supply too. Than I was warned by Skyline Engineering (they sell power supplies for the Astro) that the problem is often the Motherboard. That started me thinking. It turned out to be the CMOS battery on the Mobo that was dead. After replacing it (15 minutes work ,2032 battery type, $2) the system started again like new.

I also had a dead Astro, I was working hard trying to get at the power supply & never could get the case off the upper monitor part, then I read your post about the cmos battery & popped in a new one & low & behold it booted up! Your a life saver dude!! I love these tech discussion forums,review boards & posts so much!! I'm a amatuer tech and these forums have saved my butt more then 1 time.
It's a neighbor Astro, how much should I charge him? a couple 100? LOL

I have a gatway astro that every time I shut it off for more than 8 hours , I have to run the recovery disc and and reload the internet.
does anyone have any suggestions.

Can anybody help me? I have a dead Gateway Astro. Before I go fooling around with the power supply I want to try and change the CMOS Battery. Can anybody give me a detailed description in English{LOL} about how to go about this with the Gateway Astro? Also can I get this type of battery from any old PC shop?
