From: Les | posted: 22.05.2004 18:05 Bought the DC5300 in January after successfully using the predecessor for 18 months without any probs. The only thing I don't especially like about it is that the LCD screen is on by default, and this is a battery drain. When I bought mine it was 199.00 GBP, and with one battery. At 179.99 GBP with 2 batteries, as per the current offer, you can't go wrong. Their tech support is via 00800 number and is answered in Germany, but they speak English. Well recommended! |

From: Joan | posted: 25.05.2004 18:47 I have just bought a Traveler DC5300 and have only just noticed that it says to use it with a pentium processor computer. My computer has 633 Intel Celeron processor. Does anyone know if my camera will work with this computer |

From: Andy | posted: 26.05.2004 19:37 Hi, I purchased this camera from Aldi on 20th May at 09:00 and returned it by 16:00. I had already bought the jessops version and thought I could save some dosh (£20 cheaper plus extra battery plus 128Mb card v 32Mb). I was surprised at the differences considering that there are comments on this site that they are exactly the same camera. I noticed... Aluminium rather than Stainless body, no anti-reflective coating on monitor, different firmware resulting in some peculiar software probs. No display of Aperture & Shutter Speed in Program mode. As to the pictures - again surprised by the inferior quality of the Aldi - close ups no match at all c/w the jessops. Also, the Aldi has a strange colour cast on brightly lit subjects. Maybe I got a lemon, but I doubt it. Very happy with the jessops after a bit of getting used to the metering for brightly lit subjects (centre weighted average) |

From: Lis | posted: 03.06.2004 20:25 Can anyone help me to transfer photos from the camera to the PC? It is a DC5300. Instructions say to turn the dial to PC mode. For the life of me I cannot find PC mode on the camera! My PC is a windows XP. Instructions say it does not need a driver. I am trully stuck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

From: Roy | posted: 04.06.2004 04:34 Hi June Surprised at the problem you are having. I have a DC5300 using window 98SE. What are you using? I used to download direct from camera without any problems. I now use the card reader; also bought from Aldi. Regards Roy |
