From: Chas8ch | posted: 09.01.2004 00:55 From what I can gather the time is only available once you download the .jpg onto your computer you can then tell when the shot was taken. The camera is easy to use, but I did have it "hang up" on me today, in automatic mode, having just taken a picture, there I was with the lens out, and no apparent power on the camera. Resolved it by removing the battery momentarily, then it powered up and I was able to switch off and retract the lens. Downside was that the foto was not on the camera when I downloaded them later. I like the Photovista software though - had fun with it, and it gave really good results. All in all I am pleased with the camera, and at £199 it feels like a bargain to me - functional and fun. |

From: bobbi | posted: 11.01.2004 12:48 I received a medion digital camera for christmas from aldi's. it had quality pictures and software... the only problem, which is a very very big problem is that the batteries go dead within a short amount of time. the first time i used it it took not quite 2 hours for it to go dead.. i figured it was generic batteries and the use of LCD... then the second set of batteries i used last week went dead within an hour... thought it was the batteries were not brand new. yesterday brand new kodac, very good batteries went dead within 30 minutes. i tried to contact aldi's and will call the suuport number. has anyone else had this problem? |

From: DavidM | posted: 12.01.2004 00:59 Don't know which model camera you have. But battery drain always a problem. As you say, LCD eats batteries. 2 hours for fully charged batteries sounds about right. Only suggestion I can make is get some high capacity rechargeable batteries, say from Maplin, and carry spare sets. I have tried several cameras and 1/2 hours is about normal (if using LCD. Hope this helps |

From: Alan Williams, Glamorgan | posted: 16.01.2004 19:52 Brilliant. I looked for 2 years for the right digicam and wanted 5mp but all had something wrong, either size or price. The battery is Fujifilm NP60 or equivalent (3.7v 950mAh or 900mAh). Best price for spare battery is Jessops, but only 900mAh and £23.99 Jan 2004. Extremely pleased with camera, picture quality, size and features. Jessops model DC5 is identical but only has 32mb card. Aldi gives you 128mb for same price, £199.99. |

From: George Cowan | posted: 18.01.2004 13:59 Hi can anyone Help Bought DC5300 and I'm having problems getting pictures into WIN 98 PC. Tried installing driver off CD it appears to finish successfully but I can't see 'removable disk' in 'my computer'. Contacted Traveler web site downloaded help text Can't see 'USB' in Camera monitor as indicated on help instructions .. is it the cable!! I have previously installed Kodak software on the for a friend to use my computer to store his digital pictures. Can I only have one Digital Camera source for my computer and // or is it a Driver conflict ? If I have to remove all 'conflicting 'Dig Camera drivers how do I uninstall all drivers and start from scratch. Also no email option on web site which suprised me Any ideas ? rgds George |

From: Roy | posted: 19.01.2004 14:58 George, I too have had this problem of no removeable disc showing. I found that you have to follow the instructions exactly, some times I had to try a couple of times. Suspect it concerns just when you switch on the camera. I know that drivers do sometimes conflict, but you need someone more expert than myself to advise on this. Hope you get sorted. I do think that the camera is excellent though. from Roy |

From: Jay Mistry | posted: 20.01.2004 12:26 Have just purchased the DC5300 from my local Aldi for £199.00 They still have 4 left if anyone is interested !! I'm very pleased with the camera, once you get to know it - know what lighting conditions require what settings on the camera - the whole camera just shines a head and shoulders above others in its price bracket. Excellent picture quality, excellent functionality and easy to use intuiative access to each function. Very much recommended / will see what Aldi come up with next xmas !! |
