From: Darren | posted: 31.10.2005 14:08 I was about to reply to this forum to state my absolute disgust with Tiny in view to the 'laptop' they provided me with. With problem after problem after problem I was feeling very down about my laptop that has ceased to work (by work I mean power up when it felt like it, and run without crashing if I was lucky) since the summer of this year. I eventually found out the name of the unlucky company that are now taking on issues with the Tiny products that were bought under finance packages. I have just had a short (and cheap) phonecall with this company (who funnily enough had my address but no details of numerous previous complaints) and, who by the end of the 3 minute call, had arranged a courrior to collect my laptop and fix it to no cost at myself. This is the service that should have been provided the day I opened the box and had to phone in my first complaint. Thanks to this company for making my day alot brighter! |

From: Tony | posted: 05.05.2006 18:17 Well, I bought a Tiny laptop. Hi spec at the time. 64bit 3200. It took about two months to arrive, battery would not charge, sent it back. Two weeks later came back, they said nothing wrong. Sent it back again. Complained to Managing Director in writing. Got it back working and free leather case. This was around two years ago. I have to say it has worked fine since then. I have no re-load disk, which is a small problem, so I am very careful about what I put on it. I have to say it still wipes the floor with new laptops today that cost just as much. I agree about customer support, they were a real waste of time, I infact went to the time shop and took the note book with me, as they were the same company. the guys their were very helpful. In fact my first real notebook was from Time, it just packed in after my daughter tripped over it, but it ran for around ten years. PS if anyone has a re-load disk for the amd 64 3200, let me know. tony@crowneuropean.co.uk |

From: The King | posted: 14.08.2006 18:24 I to have bought a Tiny computer(well my father did. I'm 13). We bought it in Sept 2004. It wasn't a hassle but the computer took me 1 month to get delivered. the customer service was **** and my computer kept on breaking down. My old computer was amazing but that was in 2000. But this computer when i sent it to get repaired i was a bit suspicious why it was slower. i openned it up and had a look. they changed my psu and my memory. it used to be 1024, now its a 512mb. i did some research but when i found out that tiny's president changed the quality steeply dropped. since we are from sri lanka and we speak in tamil we found out the customer service was in a small town in india and the person i spoke to was tamil. he said they had to call themselves in english names like ash and there were only a few customer services people. he said it used to be better when it was run by the older president. my father is unhappy because he's a kidney failure patient and hates being conned. im now thing of building my own computer for £1000 from ebuyer rather than buying one from anywhere else for £1500. I paid 50 quid for a backup reload CD and when i try to run it it says "this disk is incompatible with your system". Las packed in. I had to buy a new HD a fit it myself! |
