From: JamesStevenson | posted: 19.11.2004 18:43 I have never bought from either of these companies but I have just bought a new Acer laptop from www.acernotebooks.co.uk and I found their prices and delivery to be good. |

From: Mike | posted: 12.05.2005 23:01 I know this is a bit late (like, 2 years) but I'm posting here because I kept finding this whilst search for reviews of laptopshop (and no others). Upon finding no reviews, but several 'descriptions' from what I believed to be trustworthy sites, I ordered a laptop from them. The same day I was told by email to get in touch because there was a problem with my order. Apparently they could find any records of me or my family living at my address (note we've lived in the same place for 3 years now). At first I assumed they had merely not paid for access to the full electoral roll (as we do not appear on the free version). However, although it may have perfectly innocent, their customer services immediately suggested I send/fax/email a council tax bill as proof of address. It may just have been a bad suggestion, but I cancelled my order to be on the safeside. I think I'll stick to http://www.dabs.com/uk. |

From: James | posted: 12.08.2005 00:57 Ref last poster. I used to work for Laptopshop, and I can confirm they are honest. The reason they asked for Council tax etc is that they receive an unbelievably huge volume of fraudulant orders. Delivery is only to the card registered address - for good reason. I am an ex-employee and have no reason to lie. They are okay. Nigerians just seem to love sending in cheques that are wonky, with no perforations and from the bank of Timbuctoo, signed by Steven King - The author. |

From: Samantha Darling | posted: 21.09.2005 14:56 I have used technoworld.com for the last three year in total purchased over 15 laptops and 10 desktops and other items for our business. Great service, great prices and good support if you need them. I highly recommend this company if you are looking to buy any IT kit these are the guys to go for. |

From: sarah | posted: 30.11.2006 15:09 I will not use them again. It took more than a month for the delivery of a laptop. 1st they asked for bank transfer, then they lost (?) the laptop I ordered and I had to reorder a more expensive one as they run out of the 1st one. The 2nd one got lost again and for a week we were chasing it, and then we had to go and collect it ourselves. When I asked for some kind of compensation (a little gesture would haved done) they didn't even appologise. I would not recomand it to anyone. |
