From: SteveN | posted: 31.07.2005 15:43 Now Tiny / Time have gone bust (how it took them so long I'll never know - worst company ever dealt with) has anyone got any current suggestions about deoptimising the Supanet modem? The Tiny and Granville technology websites are no longer available. I've been using Supanet but also want to use an additional ISP. The modem blocks anything other than Supanet and none of the methods on this thread have worke on my computer other than deoptomising from the websites using order numbers etc. |

From: Piecan | posted: 02.09.2005 12:27 Hi I had a bit of a problem getting rid of Supanet from my friend's computer as the website to deopt has now gone. I followed first the instructions to download the modem driver from conexant.com the HSFp_winxp.zip. When it still came up with the same error to connect I then changed the band files in regedit from band00, band001, band002 to oldband000, oldband001 and oldband002. This would have then worked, but I had to prefix the isp dial up number with 1470 as my friend had caller id blocked. At last it then worked! Thanks to all the suggestions on here. Will next be removing the annoying pop up! |

From: Gavin Hutsby | posted: 17.01.2006 09:19 Hi folks just breathed some life back into my old TIME laptop and thought this might come in handy for owners of Time Traveller series E laptops bought around 2000, when you have used the reload CD you are greeted with the annoying startup window telling you to sign up, i suggest you perform a search through your computer for 'netcheck' this also appears in the task bar as the window appears, simply delete this and you shouldt be bothered again by the annoying pop up. its also worth searching the registry for any 'netcheck' references. im not sure if Series E 2000 models had optimised modems, if they do it might not solve it but if your planning not to use the modem, dont worry bout it (the only person not to hate his time laptop?) |

From: Bad | posted: 07.02.2006 16:28 For people who want to deoptimise their modem in time/tiny pc,they can log onto the following URl "tinyurl.com/b2rsu" and then click on open and download the zipped files. Then unzip and run HXFsetup.exe file. This should deoptimise the modem. |

From: Bad | posted: 07.02.2006 16:38 For people who do not have an IE icon on their Time/Tiny pc desktop, you have to click on 'start' and on 'control panel'. Then click on 'add/remove programs'. Then click on 'Set program access and defaults' on the left hand side in 'add/remove programs'. Then select microsft windows and click 'OK'. This will create an icon for IE on the desktop. |
