From: Martin | posted: 08.02.2007 18:39 I've read on quite a few websites the trouble users have had/are having with Time/Tiny computers and Supanet services. I can only agree with those that feel they have been totally stitched up. I bought a Tiny computer back in Sep't 2004. I say bought - I ordered it for my son's Birthday but 3 weeks after phoning in my order I rang to check up on delivery. They had no record of my order. So I ordered it again and at the same time decided to uplift my order by taking out the 3 years TotalCare all-singing-and-dancing service and advice insurance - at an extra £260. Cutting it short, I then found I had to take out a Supanet account because try as they might they couldn't deopt' the modem!*!*!* Then Time/Tiny went bust. When I had a further problem I rang the Total Care lot who said the cover was no longer valid and if I want to take it futher gave me Time/Tiny liquidators contact details. Had to get it fixed independantly. Then this January some chap from Supanet rings me and tells me I can now have 8 meg BB. I tell him to send me the details and I'll look at it. I wanted to go with another ISP anyway but I thought I'd have a look at what the offer was. So a few days later I get this photocopied Supanet letter that told me how to open up a new account - mentioned nothing about increasing my BB width etc, etc. So I think sod it and cancelled my d/debit after the last payment. I then rang up when the month was up(you obviously pay i month in advance) and said I want to cancel. This chap tells me I can't because I've agreed to a new contract. I basically asked him to show me where that is and he says I've got your agreement to it on a recorded phone call. I obviously disputed this and asked him to play the phone call back to me. He couldn't and I told him at no time did I agree to enter into a new contract. He then asks a colleague for advice, comes back and tells me if I pay £60 cancellation fee they will cancel my account. I said I wasn't going to pay a penny more to them to which they said they will take me to court. I have recently rang BT Total BB to get set up with them and they said I need a migration number from Supanet. Guess who probably won't be able to get a migration number. I dislike the whole Tiny/Time Supanet set-up with a vengence. Any one got any advice? |

From: vvaughn | posted: 11.02.2007 23:37 Hey Martin - go straight to Ofcom, tell them what they said to you and they should sort it out. The £60 cancellation fee is BS and they have to give you a MAC address. |
